The school library
A quiet place to read, revise and borrow books. The library holds textbooks for every class from Senior 1 to Senior 6, UNEB past papers for every subject, and books for general reading. An e-library is being added.
Applications are open for Senior 1, Senior 5 and transfer students.
A library students use every week
Students come to the library to borrow books for class, read on their own, work through past papers and study quietly outside lesson time. The librarian and the library prefect keep it orderly and help students find what they need.
UNEB past papers are some of the most useful revision material a candidate can have. Working through several years of papers shows a student what UNEB asks and how to answer it, and the library keeps them for every subject.

- Students can ask for books the library does not have
- 1Find the bookBooks are arranged by subject. If you cannot find a title, ask the librarian or the library prefect.
- 2Sign it outYour name, class, the book title and the date are written in the register. If the book is already damaged, point it out now so you are not blamed later.
- 3Bring it back on timeReturn the book by the agreed date. If you need it longer, ask the librarian before the date, because another student may be waiting.
- 4Look after itNo writing in the book and no torn pages. A student who damages or loses a library book pays for a replacement.
The library is a quiet room. Students come to read, revise or borrow, and anyone who disturbs others is asked to leave.
- 1Senior 1 and 2Teachers send students to the library for set reading so that the habit of reading starts early.
- 2Senior 3 and 4The library becomes a revision room. Students work through UCE past papers and read beyond their class notes.
- 3Senior 5 and 6A Level students use the textbooks and UACE past papers for their subjects, especially in the months before the exams.
- 4Reading for its own sakeNovels, poetry and general books are there for students who enjoy reading. Wide reading helps in English, Literature and every subject that needs clear writing.
For parents: ask your child how often they use the library. Going to look something up, instead of guessing, is a habit worth building.
The e-library is being set up as part of the school's management system. When it is ready, students will be able to use it from the computer laboratory, and later through the student portal with their normal school login.

Library records
Borrowing, returns and overdue books recorded on the computer instead of a paper register, and linked to student records.
- Reference books: deeper subject books for preparing lessons.
- Curriculum documents: NCDC and Ministry of Education syllabuses, teaching guides and assessment guidance for the new lower secondary curriculum and for A Level.
- Teaching aids: wall charts, maps, science posters and mathematical instruments that teachers can borrow for lessons.
- Professional reading: books on teaching methods and classroom management.
- Same borrowing rules: teachers sign items out in the register, and teaching aids go back to the library after the lesson so others can use them.
