E-Learning at Jonahs
We are building an online classroom where students and parents can find lessons, notes, assignments, timetables and live classes, from home or at school.
Fees, letters and term reports are already in the student portal.
One online classroom for O Level and A Level
O Level follows the new lower secondary curriculum, where work done at school counts towards the final UCE grade. A Level follows the UACE syllabus, where the final grade comes from the UNEB examination. Both levels will use the same online classroom.
Marks from assignments, tests and examinations will go straight onto the student's report card. Teachers will not need to copy marks by hand, so parents see results sooner.
- Video lessons: slides, diagrams and recorded teaching
- Notes and materials: set books, e-books and useful links
- Assignments: set, handed in and marked online
- Class timetable: periods, subjects and rooms
- Live classes: lessons online with a teacher
- Marking guides: answers and how work is marked
What the online classroom will have
Each part will be switched on as it is ready.
Video lessons
- Teachers record lessons for each topic. Students can watch at their own pace, pause and replay as often as they need.
Notes and reading
- Notes, past papers, marking guides and set books for every subject, arranged by class, subject and term.
Assignments and homework
- Teachers set work online, students hand it in online, and teachers return it marked with comments.
Timetables and calendar
- Class timetables, the school calendar and examination dates, kept up to date by the Director of Studies.
Live classes
- Online lessons for extra help, holidays and special topics. Students can join from a phone or computer, and lessons are recorded for anyone who misses them.
