His vision

A school built on one man's belief in education

St. Joseph of Nazareth High School exists because Dr. Kyabaggu believed that education is the surest way to change a life. In 2008, together with Mrs. Margaret Kyabaggu, he opened the school at Kavule-Katende so that children in the area could get good learning built on discipline, faith and service to others.

It started small, with 67 students and a few classrooms. Today more than 1,200 students learn here, and the school still runs on the values he set from the first day.

What he gave

Hope for families across the region

Under his leadership the school became a place of hope for many families. He opened the door for children who might otherwise have missed school, and helped those in need with scholarships and support.

Many former students now work as professionals and leaders. Each class that leaves the school carries his work further.

A heart for people

A mentor as well as a founder

Dr. Kyabaggu was more than a school director. He guided young teachers, encouraged families, and gave generously to people going through hard times.

Around Kavule-Katende, people still tell stories of how he helped them.

How he led

He was firm and kind at the same time, and that pushed staff and students to give their best.

As Principal Director he strengthened the school's management, added new buildings, and started programmes that built both learning and character. The school continues to live by his values of service and education.

2008: The founding

Classrooms become a campusAs more students joined, he oversaw new buildings, including science laboratories, a library and boarding houses.
Scholarships
Help for those who needed itHe set up financial help and scholarships so that children from poor families were not turned away.

Beyond the school gatesHe supported programmes for families in the surrounding community, bringing the school and its neighbours closer.

Growing the next leadersHe mentored teachers and staff himself. The care and hard work he taught them still shape the school.

His passingDr. Kyabaggu passed away in India. He guided the school to the end and left behind a school that lives by his values.
