Leading by example

The prefectorate is the official student leadership of St. Joseph of Nazareth High School. Prefects come from Senior 1 to Senior 6 and link the students with the school administration, so that discipline, student welfare and study stay on track.

New prefects are chosen at the start of each school year. Prefects who finish Senior 4 or Senior 6 leave with their class, so the team changes every year and always reflects the students in school now.

"Being a prefect is not about rank. It is about service. A prefect shows what the school stands for in how they speak, act and lead."

  • One vote each: the system checks every student against school records, so no one votes twice.
  • Secret ballot: votes are stored without names, so no one can see how a student voted.
  • Results: the count stays hidden until the election closes and results are approved.
  • Records: every step is logged with the time, for the school's official records.
